A great length for a winter coat for boys is one that comes to below their waist or as long as the bottom of their seat. This length is good to snowboard in. Bomber length jackets are not long enough to be properly warm unless worn with a snow bib. Boys ski jackets were often made bomber length and worn with ski bibs.
